Ductless Mini Split FAQs
What Is a Ductless Mini Split?
A ductless mini split contains all of the same components as a standard heat pump (which is an air conditioning system with heating capabilities), but it does not require any ductwork to cool or heat the room. Instead, there is an outside compressor unit (like a traditional AC) and indoor air handlers in every room or area which needs it. Refrigerant flows from outside to inside in order to exchange heat in an efficient and high-performance manner, and air is blown directly into the room.
